Biografía y Trayectoria

Laura Muinelo Romay, PhD in Biology from the University of Vigo (2009), has an important background in cancer biology and liquid biopsy.

Miguel Servet Researcher at the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS), Head of the Liquid Biopsy Analysis Unit, coordinated by the Oncomet group at IDIS) and Co-IP of the team (CB16/12/00328) which is part of the Precision Diagnostics and Therapies Program at CIBERONC.

She accounts with more than 15 years of experience in the field of liquid biopsy. In particular in the study of CTCs and cfDNA/ctDNA with the reference technologies and the generation of preclinical models from fluid samples.

She recently leads a line of research focused on the development of personalize tools to guide the clinical management of endometrial tumors through the identification predictive biomarkers, generation of preclinical models, such as PDOs, from minimally invasives samples and the characterization of new mechanisms of resistance to different therapeutic strategies.

She participated in the design and coordination of 20 national and 4 international competitive projects. She is the author of >100 scientific publications (H-index: 32 and 2,942 citations) and three patents. She has also an important training activity reflected with 7 doctoral thesis supervised. She also actively participates in relevant scientific societies (ASEICA, ENITEC, ESGO, ELBS, etc) and annually organizes the Liquid Biopsy Symposium which is a reference Meeting in the field of líquid Biopsy.

• Optimización de protocolos de aislamiento de ctDNA.
• Evaluación del valor pronóstico de las Células Tumorales Circulantes (CTCs).
• Desarrollo de paneles de secuenciación de nueva generación (NGS) adaptados a la biopsia líquida.
• Estudio de microvesículas y exosomas en la metástasis tumoral.

El Dr. Toledo ha publicado más de 50 artículos en revistas peer-reviewed, incluyendo *JAMA Oncology* y *Clinical Cancer Research*. Es revisor habitual de diversas revistas científicas internacionales y participa activamente en congresos internacionales.
