Biografía y Trayectoria

María Eugenia Alonso Sarasquete, PhD in Medicine from the University of Salamanca (2006), has developed a strong background in haematological malignancies research, with a special focus in molecular diagnosis and minimal residual disease studies in lymphoproliferative diseases

Currently, she is a consolidated senior researcher at the Molecular Biology Laboratory within the Department of Haematology at the University Hospital of Salamanca. She is a member of the Haematological Malignancies Program at CIBERONC (CB16/12/00233), contributing to nationwide collaborative efforts in translational cancer research. She is also a member of several different European networks in the field of haematology including the Euroclonality (Member of External quality assessment medical/technical expert team) and Euroclonality-Next Generation Sequencing.

Her main area of work during the last few years is focused on the applicability of cell free DNA (cfDNA) for genotyping and minimal residual disease monitoring of different B cell malignancies.

She has participated in 36 research projects funded through competitive calls of public or private entities; being the principal investigator in 9 of them His strong commitment to academic mentorship is reflected in his supervision of two PhD theses and two Master's projects, along with ongoing support for early-career researchers. Finally, she is the author of 97 peer-reviewed publications, which have received 5,034 citations to date with and H-index 38.

El Dr. Toledo ha publicado más de 50 artículos en revistas peer-reviewed, incluyendo *JAMA Oncology* y *Clinical Cancer Research*. Es revisor habitual de diversas revistas científicas internacionales y participa activamente en congresos internacionales.
